Федералдык прокурорлор SBFди жаңы каржылык кылмыштар үчүн айыптоодо

  • SBF has been charged of four new financial criminal charges.
  • The charges include conspiracy to commit bank fraud and involvement in an unlicensed money-transacting business.
  • Allegedly, SBF conspired with other FTX officials to influence politicians to make them pass favorable laws.

Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the ex-CEO of the fallen крипто платформа FTX, has been charged with four new financial crimes, in an indictment filed by the Federal Prosecutors in New York Federal Court on Thursday.

As per the reports, the new charges imposed on the disgraced CEO of FTX include conspiracy to commit bank fraud and operating an unlicensed money-transmitting business. In addition, he is charged with new securities and commodities fraud crimes.

Significantly, the indictment stated that Bankman-Fried conspired with two other FTX executives to influence politicians by donating millions of dollars and thereby making them pass laws favorable to the company. The prosecutors told that the donations were allegedly made through “straw” donors or with corporate funds.

In addition, the prosecutors commented that Банкман-Фрид exposed the FTX customers to risks, for satisfying his expenditures, stating:

Contrary to Bankman-Fried’s promises to FTX customers that the exchange would protect their interests and segregate their assets, Bankman-Fried routinely tapped FTX customer assets to provide interest-free capital for his and Alameda’s private expenditures, and in the process exposed FTX customers to massive, undisclosed risk.

Notably, a source familiar with the matter commented that the accused would be forced to imprisonment for another 40 years if convicted, as he is accused of “multiple schemes to defraud”.

Previously in December, the US District Court charged Bankman-Fried with eight criminal allegations, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and securities fraud, money laundering, individual charges of securities fraud and wire fraud, and conspiracy to avoid campaign finance regulations. However, in responding to the allegations, Bankman-Fried pleaded not guilty to the charges.
